2,800 Representatives Of The Global Teochew Community Have Assembled In Shantou

On the morning of November 19th, the highly anticipated 22nd International Teochew Organizations Annual Conference and the 10th World Teochew Business Conference grandly opened at the Shantou International Convention and Exhibition Center. This prestigious event brought together 2,800 representatives from 266 Teochew organizations and chambers of commerce across 32 countries and regions worldwide, who collectively witnessed this historic moment. Led by Mr. Xie Junbo, the President of the Jiangmen Teochew-funded Enterprises Association, a delegation attended the event in Shantou. Accompanying him were Executive Presidents Lv Weibo and Lin Haidong, Executive Vice Presidents Huang Xiaotao and Huang Xianghong, as well as Secretary-General and Vice President Qiu Zhiwen.

This conference was not only of high specification and large scale, but also rich in content and diverse in form. During the opening ceremony, leaders such as Wen Zhanbin, Secretary of the Shantou Municipal Party Committee, delivered enthusiastic speeches, expressing warm welcome and heartfelt gratitude to the guests who had traveled far. Additionally, the conference launched the first batch of ten projects under the "Overseas Chinese Street" initiative and released the "Global Teochew Initiative for Building a Powerful Country and National Rejuvenation," aiming to strengthen the connections and cooperation among Teochew people worldwide and jointly promote the development of Teochew endeavors.

During the conference, the delegation actively participated in various agendas and conducted in-depth exchanges with Teochew compatriots from around the world, jointly exploring ways to further strengthen the liaison and cooperation among Teochew people at home and abroad, as well as to promote the inheritance and development of Chaoshan culture. Additionally, the delegation visited local enterprises and communities to understand the developmental changes in their hometown, and put forward constructive opinions and suggestions on promoting economic cooperation, cultural exchanges, and other aspects.
