20th Anniversary of Jiangmen Chaozhou Enterprises Assoc. & Success of Green Guangdong Initiative

December 22, 2024 is a memorable day as the Jiangmen Chaozhou Enterprises Association held a grand 20th Anniversary Celebration and Green Guangdong Initiative Conference at Fang Yuxuan International Banquet Hall. With the theme of "Gathering Chaozhou Talent in Wuyi, Connecting Commerce Across the Four Seas," the event brought together former Chaozhou-origin leaders, dignitaries from Jiangmen, Hong Kong, Macao, and the four Chaoshan cities, as well as elites from the business, finance, culture, and media sectors, to witness this historic moment.

The conference consisted of two major parts: the Third Session of the Fourth General Membership Meeting and the Fifth Council Meeting, and the 20th Anniversary Celebration and Green Guangdong Initiative Conference.

In the evening, the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Jiangmen Chaozhou Enterprises Association and the Green Guangdong Initiative Conference took place. More than 800 people, including former Chaozhou-origin leaders, relevant leaders and guests from Jiangmen and the four Chaoshan cities, representatives of overseas communities, representatives from the financial sector, and members of the Jiangmen Chaozhou Enterprises Association, gathered together to celebrate this occasion.

In his speech, Xie Junbo extended a warm welcome to the leaders and guests attending the ceremony! He stated that the Jiangmen Chaozhou Capital Association was established in December 2004. Over the past two decades, it has consistently adhered to the principles of fellowship as the foundation, development as the core, culture as the bond, and service as the center. It has united Chaozhou entrepreneurs and local elites from all walks of life in the Wuyi region, actively participating in construction, expanding economic cooperation, and cultural exchanges. Member enterprises of the association have become an important group in Jiangmen's economic development. The association has constructed the Chaoshang Building, giving the Wuyi Chaozhou people their own "home." It has also created innovative platforms, established a Party branch and multiple working committees, formulated sound management mechanisms and a comprehensive organizational structure. These initiatives have organized members to exchange ideas and resources, facilitating resource sharing and business cooperation among them. The association actively gives back to society, consistently participating in public welfare and charity undertakings to shoulder social responsibilities. It also unites the power of Chaozhou people, promotes Chaoshan culture, and advocates the spirit of Chaozhou entrepreneurs. The chamber of commerce's achievements have been recognized multiple times by relevant departments at the national, provincial, and municipal levels, earning it numerous honors. Looking ahead, the association will focus on the grand blueprint of cultural revitalization and becoming a century-old chamber of commerce. It will collaborate with Chaozhou entrepreneurs worldwide, deeply integrate with the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and thrive alongside the hometown of overseas Chinese, Jiangmen, and the hometown of Chaoshan. Together, they will strive to write a new and glorious chapter for the Jiangmen Chaozhou Capital Association!

Li Wencong, Party member and Vice Chairman of the Jiangmen Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), on behalf of Zhang Lei, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Jiangmen Municipal CPPCC, extended congratulations on the holding of the conference and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chaozhou-funded entrepreneurs and people from all walks of life who have long supported the construction and development of Jiangmen. He noted that Jiangmen is an important node city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). Jiangmen, as a renowned hometown of overseas Chinese, boasts a profound cultural heritage and a superior business environment. Chaozhou-funded enterprises have taken root here and thrived, injecting a strong impetus into Jiangmen's economic prosperity. The association has played an irreplaceable role as a bridge and tie in this process. From manufacturing to services, from traditional industries to emerging technology sectors, Chaozhou-funded enterprises are everywhere, and with their keen business insight and pioneering courage, they have carved out a vast territory on this land of Jiangmen. Subsequently, a launch ceremony for cross-border elderly care cooperation among Jiangmen, Hong Kong, and Macao was held, marking a new step forward for the chamber of commerce in promoting regional cooperation. Jiangmen, Hong Kong, and Macao share close personal ties and geographical proximity, possessing inherent regional advantages. Against this backdrop, by actively seizing the development opportunities presented by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, integrating unique cultural resources, comprehensive tourism products, rural industrial projects, and other resources from the three regions, a multi-level cross-border residential elderly care development platform will be created.

At the donation ceremony, the Jiangmen Chaozhou-funded Enterprises Association demonstrated its social responsibility and charitable spirit through concrete actions. It donated 200,000 yuan to the "Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Projects" Green and Beautiful Guangdong initiative, contributing to the improvement of the ecological environment and residents' quality of life in Guangdong Province. Additionally, it donated 100,000 yuan to the continuation project of the Zhenhai Tower in Chaozhou and another 100,000 yuan to the Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Projects in Haojiang District.

Huang Xiaotao, a native of Jieyang, Guangdong, is the current Chairman of Guangdong Wenhao Industrial Group.
