On March 29, the Anniversary Celebration of the Hong Kong Jiangmen General Chamber of Commerce and High-Quality Development Sharing Session was held in Jiangmen. Under the theme of “Gathering Momentum for the 15th Five-Year Plan · Innovation and Technology Connecting Jiangmen and Hong Kong”, nearly 200 political and business representatives, experts and scholars from both Jiangmen and Hong Kong gathered to renew friendship, explore business opportunities and seek common development, drawing a new blueprint for Jiangmen-Hong Kong cooperation in the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan.
Jiangmen and Hong Kong have long enjoyed close geographical and cultural ties. Established in March 2025, the Hong Kong Jiangmen General Chamber of Commerce is a key organization uniting entrepreneurs from both places and linking resources in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It has built a solid bridge for economic and trade exchanges, industrial cooperation and cultural connection between Jiangmen and Hong Kong, facilitating in-depth integration and common prosperity of the two regions, and serving the overall high-quality development of the Greater Bay Area.
At the anniversary celebration, Liang Hongwu, Member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangmen Municipal Party Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department, fully affirmed the Chamber’s achievements in upholding patriotism and love for Hong Kong, acting as a bridge and bond, and fulfilling social responsibilities. At present, Jiangmen is focusing on the main theme of “striving for economic growth”, vigorously promoting large-scale investment promotion, accelerating the construction of the “13158” modern industrial system, consolidating the foundation of manufacturing, and expanding and upgrading modern service industries, striving for a promising start to the 15th Five-Year Plan. Liang Hongwu expressed hope that the Hong Kong Jiangmen General Chamber of Commerce will act as a runner, doer and hard worker, join hands with all cadres and people of Jiangmen to achieve greater causes, promote in-depth integration between Jiangmen and Hong Kong, and jointly build a vibrant and splendid new Jiangmen.
Huang Dadong, Chairman of the Hong Kong Jiangmen General Chamber of Commerce and Hong Kong Justice of the Peace, reviewed the Chamber’s accomplishments in economic empowerment, social responsibility, youth development, institutional development and political participation. He stated that the Chamber will continue to uphold its core values of “proactively offering strategies, proactively building bridges, and proactively supporting one another”. To elaborate, “offering strategies” means putting forward ideas and plans to pool the wisdom of entrepreneurs from both places; “building bridges” means establishing comprehensive connections between Jiangmen and Hong Kong, government and enterprises, and supply and demand sides; “supporting one another” means upholding the spirit of dedication, achieving win-win development, rejecting egoism, and practicing national responsibility.
Meanwhile, letters of appointment were also issued to newly added vice chairpersons and directors. Wong Hiu To, Mak Sin Tim and Law Kai Bong were appointed as new vice chairpersons, while Chan Hiu Hung, Cheuk Ka Shun and Hou Xinli were appointed as new directors. Outstanding Performance Awards were presented to members who had made remarkable contributions to chamber development, social services and investment promotion.
rior to the anniversary celebration, the Hong Kong Jiangmen General Chamber of Commerce held a High-Quality Development Sharing Session, where guests from various sectors delivered in-depth presentations on cutting-edge scientific and technological innovation, industry-university-research integration and other topics, offering an intellectual feast for Jiangmen-Hong Kong sci-tech innovation cooperation. Officials from the Jiangmen Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology and Jiangmen Municipal Investment Promotion Bureau introduced Jiangmen’s sci-tech innovation environment, preferential policies and the unique charm of the “Five-Star Jiangmen” to the attendees, attracting more Hong Kong compatriots to choose and develop in Jiangmen.
During the sharing session, Pengjiang District of Jiangmen and the Hong Kong Jiangmen General Chamber of Commerce formally signed a framework agreement on residential care services for the elderly in communities. The two sides will jointly build a “Pengjiang Community with Hong Kong Characteristics for Hong Kong Residents”. Based in Pengjiang, Jiangmen, the project will establish an integrated service system covering residence, healthcare, daily living and government services in line with Hong Kong standards, serving Hong Kong and Macao residents, overseas Chinese around the world and international professionals, aiming to set a new benchmark for Hong Kong-style community development in the Chinese mainland.
2026 marks the inaugural year of the 15th Five-Year Plan and a crucial year for the in-depth development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Taking its anniversary as a new starting point, the Hong Kong Jiangmen General Chamber of Commerce will continue to stay true to its original aspiration and pursue excellence with dedication. It will unite entrepreneurs from all walks of life in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland with high inclusiveness, continuously improve its service system and expand areas of cooperation, acting both as a bond for fellowship and a bridge for industrial collaboration.
