On the afternoon of June 27, 2024, the inauguration ceremony of the China-Latin America Trade and Cooperation Service Platform and the "Qiao Initiative for Local Products Going Global" was grandly held in Jiangmen, the "Capital of Overseas Chinese." Among the 200+ attendees from government, business, and overseas Chinese communities was Liang Qunsheng, representing Guangdong Wohao Furniture Co., Ltd.
Co-hosted by the Jiangmen United Front Work Department, Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, and Commerce Bureau, the event aimed to leverage Jiangmen’s diaspora resources, foster China-Latin America trade ties, and boost high-quality foreign trade.
Pang Guomei, Deputy Director of the Guangdong United Front Work Department and Director of the Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, along with Chen Anming, Secretary of the Jiangmen Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Municipal People’s Congress, delivered speeches. The ceremony was presided over by Liang Hongwu, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the United Front Work Department.
Dignitaries from Latin American diaspora associations, trade groups, and Jiangmen-based exporters like Wohao Furniture gathered to explore collaboration opportunities.
The event witnessed the signing of a "platform co-construction" agreement with Latin American diaspora organizations. Over 100 Jiangmen enterprises, including Guangdong Wohao Furniture Co., Ltd., will leverage this platform to introduce more than 200 products to Latin American markets. Simultaneously, a premium Latin American product import initiative was launched to foster two-way trade growth.
Moving forward, Jiangmen will deepen its "Overseas Chinese Facilitating Global Guangdong Trade" campaign, propelling more "Made in Jiangmen" products worldwide and contributing its diaspora strengths to building a China-Latin America community with a shared future.
